Abstract

In this article, the author aims to study the place of women in American cultural diplomacy in France during the Cold War. It is argued that the State Department was able to negotiate the construction of an information program that relied notably on the military. Then, in a second point, the author seeks to define the American democratic model at the time of the evolution of the social body of the army. Finally, the author interrogates the role of women in the circulation of the American democratic model in the French province Orleans.
