Abstract | Since the autumn of 2015, Israeli-Palestinian spaces have been marked by an unprecedented wave of anti-Israeli violence, most often individual, spontaneous, and non-politicized. Many young women, sometimes minors, have taken part in knife attacks, which have revived both academic and political on the type of armed violence in Palestine. Analysis of the evolution of women’s participation in the Palestinian national struggle highlights the singularity of these latest attacks, which many today qualify as suicides. With all these weapons accessible to all, they no longer depend on a masculine and collectivist logistical framework. They reflect the undifferentiated use of equivalent arms by women and men to express their frustration, which is as personal as it is national. [translated and modified from author] |
