Abstract

Examining the history of the feminist movement in Turkey provides many opportunities to understand that protest is not determined solely by the political context. How do protest movements, despite repression, co-construct contexts to resist? In 1980, a new cycle of protest was born and led to several innovations in the construction of the repertoire of militant space in Turkey and in the modalities of organization and action. The feminist movement has been instrumental in this process by addressing different aspects of male domination. [translated from author]
