Abstract

Mildred Aldrich (1853–1928) was an American journalist and writer. In 1898, she moved to France, and in 1914 bought a house that overlooked the Marne river valley. This book is a collection of letters detailing most of the final year of the war, and is a continuation of the author's A Hilltop on the Marne (1915) and On the Edge of the War Zone (1917), followed by When Johnny Comes Marching Home (1919).
