Abstract

Mildred Aldrich (1853–1928) was an American journalist and writer. In 1898, she moved to France, and in 1914 bought a house that overlooked the Marne river valley. This book is a collection of letters describing her experiences in the months immediately following the war's end. This is a continuation of the author's A Hilltop on the Marne (1915), On the Edge of the War Zone (1917) and The Peak of the Load (1918).
