Massenhaftes Töten: Kriege und Genozide im 20. Jahrhundert

In this volume, historians, jurists, political scientists, sociologists, psychologists, literary scholars, and journalists examine mass killing--active killing, that is, not just the death suffered--in the wars and genocides of the 20th century. The contributions ask about the practices and social contexts of killing, about socially embedded inhibitions to killing and how these inhibitions are overcome, and they deal with how mass killing was talked about publicly and privately or how it was kept silent.
