Abstract | Blast from the Past is a 1999 American romantic comedy film. The film focuses on a naive 35-year old man, Adam Webber, who spent his entire life living in a fallout shelter built by his father, an eccentric scientist, during the Cuban Missile Crisis (1962). Thirty-five years later, when Adam leaves the shelter, his old-fashioned attitudes and manners dating to the late 1950s and early 1960s make him a hit with everyone he meets, and attract the attentions of Eve Rustikoff, a young woman who helps him navigate the strange landscape of late 1990s southern California. |
