| Abstract | Created by the Institute of Contemporary History of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Nova University of Lisbon to mark the centenary of the outbreak of war, the Portugal 1914 portal is a public history initiative to both educate and facilitate commemoration. Drawing materials from archives, libraries, universities, museums, schools, and municipalieis, as well as contributions by experts and the general public, the program is designed to provide a broad audience with access to online exhibitions, primary source materials, news on academic conferences, and links to additional resources. All site pages are in Portuguese, although there is an English–langugage version of the main page and some materials have been translated. |
