Abstract

Based on a true story, this critically acclaimed film presents the story of Alan Turing's intelligence work for the British during World War II. At Bletchley Park, Turing works to decode the Enigma machine and thus German intelligence reports. His difficult personality as well as his closeted homosexuality distance him from his peers, but they rally behind him when he discovers a breakthrough. Years after the war, Turing undergoes chemical castration as punishment for a criminal conviction of homosexuality.
