Abstract

Lady Kate Courtney, a British social worker and internationalist, campaigned extensively during her lifetime to end the Second Boer War and the First World War. Due to these efforts, she was denounced as being overly sympathetic to the enemy during both wars. These extracts from her war diary were published, first privately in 1927, and then by a press in London in 1928.
