Abstract	The international politics of war delay the rescue mission of a U.S. naval pilot during the Bosnian War. During a reconnaissance mission, Lt. Chris Burnett flies off course and identifies mass graves in the demilitarized zone. After his plane is shot down, Burnett tries to escape Bosnian Serbs while his commanding officer battles with NATO commanders who fear Burnett's rescue would jeopardize the peace process.
