Abstract

The brief autobiography of the German pop singer and actress, Monika Grimm, born 1940 in Schönfels in Eastern Germany,  focuses on her early childhood experiences after the Second World War. Her career began in East Germany at the end of 1950. She was a member of the women's quartet Die Kolibris, which was mainly used for background tasks.  Monika Grimm left the GDR right before the wall was built in early August 1961. In West Germany her career as singer and actress was not as successful as in the  GDR.
