Abstract

This book chapter explores the gendered discourse on the First World War in  the Austrian propaganda of this conclict including the construction of the "homefront" as "female," and the battle front as "male." It was accpring to the propaganda  the task of the women at the homefront to support the  men at the battle front ,who were fighting to protect the fatherland, Austria, the home and the family.
