Abstract

Chronologically the story of the flying career of Ernst Udet (1896-1941) until the end of the First World War is told. He fought as one of the most successful fighter pilots for the German Empire. After Manfred von Richthofen (1892–1918), he achieved the second highest number of aerial victories with 62. In 40 episodes, the reader learns everything about bad luck and good fortune, dicey flight situations, the amazing, the strange and finally the successful air battles.
