Abstract

Created by the US National Archives and Records Administration (NARA, College Park, MD), this online archive presents a trove of more than 2,700 books and thousands of documents discovered in 2003 during the US invasion of Iraq. They relate to the existence of a Jewish community dating some 2,500 years, but which was dispersed in the middle of the twentieth century. Users can view an online exhibition, search the documents for personal names and keywords, but also browse the records. All finding aids and site pages in English, while materials themselves are primarily in Hebrew, but with other languages, including English, French, and Arabic represented.
