Kangamba

The film takes place in the southern town of Kangamba, Angola, in August 1983, during the Angolan civil war. Troops of the Unión Nacional para la Independencia Total de Angola (UNITA – National Union for the Total Independence of Angola), trained by the South African armed forces, launch an offensive against the small town, in the hands of the Movimiento Popular de Liberación de Angola (MPLA – People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola) with the support of Cuban internationalist fighters. After a week of fighting, where the civilian population is affected, the defending troops achieve victory, but at a high price.
