In this visually arresting documentary, director Fernando E. Solanas weaves together the threads of globalization, neoliberalism, and political corruption to explain the decaying social, economic, and political fabric of Argentina in the late 20th century. After the fall of the military dictatorship in 1983, Argentina's democratically elected officials enacted policies they promoted as they key to widespread prosperity. Instead, they followed global trends adopted by other democracies such as privatizing public assets and services, implementing financial austerity, and weakening labor laws, policies that worsened public debt, inflation, and unemployment.
