This is the remarkable story of a woman who, having lost the most precious thing in life - her children - dived headlong into a furiously whirling maelstrom of war. This book offers the story of Banafsha-Khomar Zahrah Nasir, a British–born woman who, after a divorce, flung herself into reporting on Afghanistan. It is an adaptation of her diary recording experiences in 1983, during the Soviet Union's war in that country.
