Abstract

The article focuses on Afghan women's narratives and the construction of Western freedoms. Topics include women's emancipation in soft power strategies, the role of the Afghan Women's Writing Project (AWWP), a series of online creative writing workshops conducted by U.S.-based mentors with Afghan women in English, as entry point to understanding the new forms of colonial feminism in the context of war and military intervention, and Aghan women's criticism of the U.S.-led military intervention.
