Abstract

Based on an analysis of existing literary and graphic material on the connections between World War I and eroticism, German physician and sexologist Magnus Hirschfeld (1868-1935) wrote Sittengeschichte des Weltkrieges (History of Morality of the World War) in 1930, in which he examined the influence of wartime events on the moral and sexual behavior of soldiers and civilians, as well as the impact of their moral standards and sexual intentions on the war.
