Abstract | The research, which obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award of the University of Salamanca, with a comprehensive and interdisciplinary spirit, proposes a detailed and rigorous journey on the construction and development of feminism and gender studies through political and social history in Peru from the military government of General Juan Velasco Alvarado to the government of President Ollanta Humala Tasso (2012). In addition, from a hybrid approach, it analyzes how, having gone through periods that marked history, such as the decade of political violence and terror led by the Shining Path and the Armed Forces, followed by a decade of authoritarianism and corruption under President Alberto Fujimori and his advisor Vladimiro Montesinos, the female imaginary has been reflected in certain contemporary Peruvian cultural manifestations. In general terms, the book seeks to observe and analyze the impact that feminism and gender studies have had on the Peruvian feminine imaginary through the analysis of certain contemporary Peruvian cultural products (television, film and literature) in a given historical and political context. |
