Abstract

This book aims to elaborate, within and around the war and post-war scenarios in the Balkans, stories of political and social justice coherent with the memory and reality of women, especially the citizens of Kosovo. Stories and discourses are key cultural resources that relate individual and collective understanding and the experiences of antagonism, suffering and the exercise of rights. Interventions by the international community, for their part, also shape the general political framework in which women struggle for self-recognition and liberation. Formed in the United States, Bremen and Florence, Ana M. Jara has been a professor at the University of Almería and today is part of a research project of the University of Jaén and performs research at the University of Granada. The author has lived in Kosovo for several years, working for the OSCE in the field of human rights, within the UN mission.
