Abstract

The article offers information on the roles of women during the civil war in the U.S. It mentions that wives of plantation owners and farmers managed the farms and produce resources needed to clothe and feed troops while some women with medical degrees worked or volunteered as doctors. Moreover, women helped in transportation of bodies buried on battlefields, raised funds for establishment of memorials, and worked in arsenals.
