Abstract | On the following pages, I will review the existing literature dedicated to music and international history, arguing that up to this point, musicologists have done far more for the advancement of our understanding of music as a force in international history than historians of international relations. Next, I shall outline the stories, strategies, and standpoints presented in this book. Five observations at the end of this chapter shall serve to define the most important methodological and historical findings of this book, along with recommendations for future research. |
