Centropa: Preserving Jewish Memory - Bringing History to Life

Centropa is a nonprofit historical institute dedicated to Jewish family and individual stories from Central Europe, Eastern Europe, and the Balkans. The site's content includes photographs, thematic exhibitions, recipes, and other materials. Perhaps most important are the interviews collected primarily in Vienna of individuals from across the region who survived the Second World War and settled in the city. The site has English, German, and Hungarian versions, and many materials have been created or translated into English.
